Divided society: the country that kills the most LGBTQIA+ and produces the most queer visibility

12/6 14h BR | 18h UK

On the 12th of June, at 5 pm (BST), the Brazil Forum UK’s panel “Divided society: the country that kills the most LGBTQIA+ and produces the queerest visibility” will hold a debate with Erica Malunguinho, Isaac Porto and Murilo Araújo. Although Brazil is the country with the highest number of murders in LGBTQIA+ communities, it is the nation that most consumes content related to LGBTQIA+ themes. The Brazil Forum UK 2021 addresses a debate on this polarized relationship between Brazilian society and the LGBTQIA+ community, aiming to understand how this issue is accepted in the leisure space and is so violently rejected in the environment of affection and acceptance.
